Orleans Outdoor Lights by Maxim Lighting | Old World Charm

Maxim Lighting Orleans Outdoor Light Fixtures

Maxim Lighting Orleans Outdoor Light Fixtures

Whimsical, yet majestic, this outdoor lighting family is called Orleans for a reason. The newest light fixtures revealed by Maxim Lighting, these outdoor lights are luxurious with their Oil Rubbed Bronze finish and Amber Seedy glass. The intricate work on these fixtures shows that they seamlessly merge Victorian and Mediterranean lighting styles to create a timeless, classic look.

These traditional light fixtures instantly bring to mind images of southern hospitality, mysterious Mardi Gras characters, the enchanting boulevards of New Orleans, and summer romance. Orleans has a light, airy quality that is easily complemented by the heavy finish and strong impression of the fixture. The ribbed, interlacing wrought iron design of the fixtures give Orleans an incomparably historical feel.

I am naturally drawn to the largest outdoor wall sconce from Orleans, which measures an impressive 25″ high by 12″ wide, projects 15″ from the wall and is attached to a regal, rectangular base. (Product Page: http://www.brilliantoutdoors.com/max-30496.html) Constructed with three 60 incandescent bulbs, this light fixture is certain to introduce a unique, charming glow to your front door or patio. Be sure to check out the other fixtures in the family, as the outdoor light post and outdoor pendant light are a perfect match to your Old World decor.

Elk Lighting Lights the Way to Victorian Elegance

Elk Lighting Grand Aisle Lighting Family

Elk Lighting Grand Aisle Lighting Family

“The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.”

This is the line I think of when I look at Elk Lighting‘s gorgeous new outdoor lighting family, the Grand Aisle. These fixtures are grand indeed. With a subtle blend of Victorian delicacy, Mediterranean design, contemporary lines, and transitional twists, Grand Aisle represents everything that is sophisticated about European grandeur.

My favorite light fixture of the Grand Aisle family is easily the outdoor wall sconce. (Product Page: http://www.brilliantoutdoors.com/el-42251-3.html) Designed to resemble the large European gas lanterns that you might find on historic Victorian lanes, Grand Aisle features a tapered water glass with a cast aluminum frame and a Weathered Charcoal finish. The ripples of the glass are reminiscent of misty, mysterious raining nights in London, though the frame is distinctly similar to Mediterranean style lights. The Grand Aisle wall sconce comes in three sizes: 23″ h x 7″ w x 11″ proj., 32″ h x 9″ w x 13″ proj., and 39″ h x 11″ w x 16″ proj., and the smallest light fixtures use one 100W bulb, while the larger wall sconces use three and four 60W candle bulbs respectively.

Elk Lighting’s outdoor lighting fixtures are some of my favorites, simply because they take old, traditional styles and give them a modern twist. Freshen’ them up a bit, so to speak, to fit a contemporary fashion sense. Even My Fair Lady could get behind that.
