Did you watch “Clash of the Titans”? Do you prefer the Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson 2010 version or the one with the mechanical owl Bubo of 1981?
I prefer the kitschy 1981 version. I am also curious about the current movie called “The Immortals.” However, Details Magazine for men, has an interesting article this month about the possible effects of such Greek god ideals on the body images of men. You can avoid the debate entirely by sticking with home decor with Neoclassical architecture rather than statues of the human form.
If your residential architecture is Greek revival, you can still decorate your outdoor lighting with contemporary sconces. It would be especially humorous if you used Titan, a reference to Greek Myth. Titan by Hinkley Outdoor Lighting can be purchased as an energy saving outdoor fluorescent lighting fixture. All model come with organic ribbed etched glass shades. You can choose Buckeye, Titanium or Hematite finishes.
Imagine the gigantic creatures of Mount Othrys in a battle against the gods of Mount Olympus! Not everyone has such a conversation piece on their garden porch. Did you know that Titans Cronus and Rhea are parents of Zeus? Have fun with your contemporary outdoor sconces and select Titan to welcome guests to a Mediterranean-style dinner party this New Year’s Eve!
